Contacting Stakeholders

Contacting Stakeholders

When contacting stakeholders by phone or by email you should be very clear about who you are, who you represent, and the nature of your call. The same rules apply when asking questions at public events.

Identify yourself by name and by company

Declare the interest represented
Neither intentionally misrepresent your status nor the nature of your inquiries nor create any false impression in relation thereto

Please listen to the examples below and see which is the correct one when contacting a policy-maker on behalf of a client to request an update on the evolution of a specific topic.

NB: Even if you have a cordial relationship or even amicable one with the stakeholder in question, it is paramount that you properly identify yourself and declare your interest.
